Get to know MPIC and IPIC

Midwest Provider Insurance Company (MPIC)

Midwest Provider Insurance Company (MPIC) provides professional and general liability coverage to long-term care facility operators in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.

The MPIC Liability Program is truly a member-owned, member-controlled insurance program. MPIC's rates are based upon expected losses of the program members—not market conditions and not expected losses of the entire industry.

MPIC's Risk Management Program helps members reduce the likelihood of becoming the target of frivolous liability claims.

Indiana Provider Insurance Company (IPIC)

Indiana Provider Insurance Company (IPIC) was formed to serve the specific professional and general liability needs of long-term care facilities in Indiana. As a division of MPIC, the same benefits, attention to detail and support that members receive from MPIC is also provided by IPIC.

As a division of MPIC, IPIC's rates are based on the expected losses of its members. And IPIC members have access to the same Risk Management Program as MPIC members.

Eligibility

In order to ensure an adequate spread of risk and to minimize varied exposure to liability claims, MPIC currently limits coverage to Illinois, Missouri and Iowa, while IPIC serves only Indiana facilities. This limited geographic distribution affords better services for long-term care facility operators, while limiting overall administrative costs.

Eligible Operations

• Skilled and intermediate care facilities

• Independent, assisted and supported living facilities
